"Throughout the years being an active member of Jane Doe Inc. has given me the opportunity to participate in many activities to raise awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as the opportunity to improve my professional skills attending trainings and webinars. The tremendous impact we make as part of the Jane Doe coalition is unmeasurable for every agency, advocate, client and community member." ~ Claudia Segura - JDI Coalition Member and Advocate
Take Action
Each and every one of us has a role to play in creating a world free of violence and abuse. Get involved. Speak out. Learn more. Make a difference!
POLICY ADVOCACY:
Sign up for our email alerts and become part of our statewide policy and legislative response. Our alerts provide detail on the issue, talking points, and instructions on who to contact. It's critical that your elected officials hear directly from you as they make decisions about legislation and budget priorities.
RAISE AWARENESS:
Four times a year JDI hosts awareness and prevention campaigns to help improve public understanding, shift public attitudes, and ultimately prevent and end sexual and domestic violence:
January – Stalking Awareness and Prevention Month
March – Massachusetts White Ribbon Day (held during Women's History Month & International Women's Day)
April – Sexual Violence Awareness and Prevention Month
October – Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month
These campaigns coincide with nationally recognized months and other anniversaries. Local agencies and state and territory coalitions around the country produce posters, advertisements, materials, and events. You can download materials, attend and/or sponsor events, and help spread the word.
(Check back later for materials from our past campaigns.)
